Helping to raise donations for Lighthouse is fun and easy! The sky's the limit on how you, companies or groups can get involved so Lighthouse can continue to help the growing number of people coming to us for assistance. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
Party With a Purpose: Gather your friends and get together for a cause. There are several ways to help: collect diapers, personals, food, etc. Or simply ask guests to make a monetary donation with the proceeds to Lighthouse. Our development team will help with some fun ideas.
Bargain Shop: As your out and about keep your eyes open for deals on items for our the Lighthouse pantry like macaroni and cheese and soup. Stores often run sales or promotions on items we need. Lighthouse can give you a list of current most needed items.
Bake Sale: Get those cookbooks out! Who doesn’t love home-made treats? Employees bring in a baked good and sell to each other. Proceeds are collected and donated to Lighthouse. We’ll even pass along some of our favorite recipes to you.
Casual Day: How about offering your employees the opportunity to dress in jeans or casual wear for a small donation? Lighthouse will provide a supply of stickers to your company for each employee to wear who participates in Casual Day.
Coin Drive: What to do with all that spare change in your desk drawer? Organize a coin drive! Have your employees gather their loose coins and make a donation to Lighthouse. You’ll be surprised how fast coins add up. Even better yet...ask your company to match the donation!
Peanut Butter & Jelly Drive: During the summer months when kids are out of school they no longer have school lunch programs available to them. This can be a tough time for families who may already be struggling to put food on the table. During June—August your office can hold a peanut butter & jelly drive.
Food Drive: Our food pantry operates all year long and is always in need of donations. Unfortunately the need for emergency food keeps growing in our community. Help fill our pantry shelves by hosting a food drive. We’ll supply you with a list of most needed items to get you started. Get creative with your food drive!
